Visit From A Local Councillor!
This week, we were also visited by our local councillor Helene Richmond, who also organises a weekly food bank at BHA! Our Key Stage 2 students were awed by her speech, and were able to ask her plenty of questions regarding the roles and duties of councillorship, as well as the skills required. Overall, it was an excellent visit!
Year 5 - Making Memory Boxes!
Our Year 5 students brought their Literacy lessons to life as they constructed their very own memory boxes for the characters in the book they're reading; through writing letters and cards, they were able to really fine-tune their writing skills and write engaging, and persuasive, pieces!
Fizz Free February
This month marks Fizz Free February, a SugarSmart campaign designed for Early Years' students! In our Early Years' setting, we've introduced the harms of drinking too many fizzy drinks, as well as some healthier alternatives!
Year 1 - Painting Animals!
Just like humans have individual fingerprints, gorillas have unique, wrinkled patterns on their noses known as the 'nose print'.
As a continuation from their previous study on animal patterns and habitats, our Year 1 students took their animal research to the ICT room where they copy-and-pasted images of their favourite animals which they then used as references to create their own paintings! And by studying their features, our Year 1 students also learned about the groupings of animals based on their individual features!
