Exploring our Peace Garden!
Our Peace Garden is always a popular hangout spot during break and lunch times and apparently not just among our students! An entire colony of snails seems to have moved into the vibrant habitat, and our pupils here at BHA love observing and looking after them during their free time. Not only has our Peace Garden provided a relaxing atmosphere for our students, but also an outlet through which exploring nature becomes accessible.
Reception - Baking Cookies!
Our Reception class loves cooking healthy treats during their cookery sessions each week, and we happened to come across them whilst they were in the process of mixing the batter for healthy oat, banana and orange cookies. Cooking is a fantastic way to encourage children to follow instructions, interact with mathematical concepts and produce a yummy dish at the end of it!
Year 3 - Charcoal Drawings!
Charcoal is perhaps one of the oldest artistic tools still used today, it's history dating back to 30,000 BC where it was primarily used to draw on the walls of caves. Our Year 3 students enjoying exploring the different ways to use charcoal during an science lesson where they designed different animal caricatures which look absolutely fantastic.
Auditions for a New Performance!
The auditions for our new theatre project took place today, and we had an absolutely astounding line-up of students waiting to audition, all of whom did a fabulous job! Deliberations for our final cast of characters will certainly be intense, and we hope to share the new members of this year's performing arts group very soon.
Interacting with theatre allows our students to tap into a new space for Muslim youth, and interact with familiar ideas and themes in a new and engaging way.
