Black History Month Showcase Assembly
After all the work our students did last week regarding Black History Month, they had the chance to showcase everything during a whole-school assembly! It was a great opportunity for our students to learn about what the other classes had been up to, and educate themselves on the different key figures who had been studied!
Year 6 - Black History Month!
This black history month, Year 6 has been buzzing with creativity and discovery! Our art activity inspired by the talented Stephen Wiltshire allowed students to explore their artistic skills while capturing the beauty of cityscapes. Following that, they dived into the remarkable life of Olaudah Equiano and wrote captivating diary entries based on his life!
Year 4 - Black History Month!
Maracas hold a lot of spiritual and cultural significance, especially in West Africa, and our Year 4 students had a great time making paper mache maracas of their own! Well done to our students for all their hard work and effort!
Year 5 - Black History Month!
Our Year 5 students also dipped their toes into making African-inspired masks using different tools and techniques! They did such a wonderful job, and we're so impressed with how their final pieces turned out! In addition, they conducted detailed research on the life of Harriet Tubman in the ICT room!
