Year 3 - Painting Stones!
Did you know that there are three different types of rock, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic? We didn't either! But our Year 3 students have dived into geological investigations this week and as part of their learning, have also painted some fantastic designs onto pebbles of their own! It also helps that they've been reading 'The Pebble in my Pocket', a scientific adventure that takes readers around the globe, which further links together their different areas of learning.
Our Anti-Bullying Poster Competition Winners!
Following our Anti-Bullying Poster competition - which was open to all students across the school - we're so pleased to present the talented students who snagged our first-place prizes! This competition was a comprehensive way of allowing our students to discuss the impacts of bullying in their own way and on their own terms, and the result is absolutely fantastic! From creating catchy slogans, writing meaningful poetry and applying their artistic skills to some great illustrations, all of our participating students have amazed us with their creative expertise!
And without further ado, here are our winners:
Reem (Yr 1), Huda (Yr 2), Ayah (Yr 3), Areej (Yr 4), Umamah (Yr 5) and Zahra (Yr 6)
Once again, a huge congratulations to our winners, runners-up and participants!
Nursery - A Healthy Snack Time!
Living a healthy lifestyle is just as fundamental during youth as it is during adulthood, if not more so, as healthy habits are better instilled in young children! We at BHA constantly encourage our students to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which includes getting exercise, maintaining cleanliness in all aspects and, of course, eating nutritious meals. Here is a snapshot one of of our Nursery students proudly sharing her healthy snack!
Year 6 - Delicious Mexican Recipes!
We guarantee that by reading this part of our weekly newsletter, we'll have inspired you to make some Mexican recipes of your own. Our Year 6 students, as part of their topic 'Hola Mexico' which has taken them to a tourist location increasingly growing in popularity, have devised their very own traditional Mexican recipes, while practicing their persuasive writing too! From golden-brown fajitas encompassing meat and veggies, not to mention some mouth-watering tacos, our Year 6 students have truly produced some recipes which we encourage you all to try at home!
