Year 6 - WWII Poetry
To celebrate National Poetry Day (Thursday 6th October), our Year 6 class honed their creative writing skills as they wrote their own poetic pieces based off of their current read, Goodnight Mr Tom, from the point of view of one of its characters: William, the evacuee. Others went above and beyond, writing two poems from opposing points of view, artfully exploring the emotional impact that the war had upon different people during this turbulent time in British history. Here's some of our students' poetry for you to have a read of!
Year 5 - Trip to the RAF Museum
The Royal Air Force Museum is a structural timeline of Britain's aviation history, housing a world renowned collection of aircraft, wartime memorabilia, uniforms and other artefacts, and our Year 5 students thoroughly enjoyed learning all about WWI aircrafts, as well as exploring the local area!
And did you know that the first air mail in the world was sent from Hendon to Windsor? That's certainly a fact we found interesting!
Year 1 - Painting Astronauts
Our Year 1's space exploration continues this week as they learn more about astronauts, their roles and some interesting facts about the galaxy! Our Year 1 students have certainly found space fascinating, and this week, they painted their very own astronauts in vibrant space suits ready to fly out in their rockets.
