Year 3 - Environmentalist Poetry

Following the theme of 'Environment', our Year 3 students used their ICT skills to craft their very own acrostic poems. Our students got creative with their word choices and rhyming couplets, perfectly evoking the theme of looking after the environment!

Black History Month and Islam

Considering that October marks Black History Month, it's only apt that we spotlight some of the most influential African Muslims in history who contributed to the spread of Islam. Among such individuals was Bilal (R.A), the first muezzin (someone who calls to prayer), and one of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)'s most trusted companions. In addition, Sumayyah (R.A.H) was among the first women to accept Islam and was also the first martyr. Ibn Battuta was a Muslim scholar and explorer known for his journey around the Islamic world, documenting his findings in various works. Much of Islam's growth and breakthroughs can be attributed to various African Muslims, and it's so important that we encourage our youth to learn more about their contributions to our faith!

Year 2 - Egg Box Dragons!

Linked to their class book, 'The Adventures of Egg Box Dragon', our Year 2 students got artsy with egg boxes to create their own renditions of the egg box dragon! Not only did they get a chance to be creative, but our students were also able to bring the story to life. And we think they've done an absolutely terrific job!

Year 4 - Performing Poetry

It's been poetry all around this National Poetry Day, and our Year 4 students were no exception to the rhyming fun. Not only did our students write their poems but they performed them in front of their peers: a task which helped to build their confidence, as well as their love for poetry!
