Year 6 - The Tallest Tower Challenge!
Separated in groups and challenged with making the 'tallest tower' out of recycled materials such as boxes and plastic bottles, within a limited time-frame, our Year 6 class certainly put their critical thinking and cooperation skills to the test. And not only did they succeed in making some structurally-sound, massive structures, but they thoroughly enjoyed the process too!
Year 1 - Making Our Own Planets!
As a continuation from the previous week, our Year 1 students have furthered their exploration into outer space, different galaxies and, by extension, the different planets too. Our Year 1 students even made their own planets out of different materials such as felt, cotton, paper, cartons, wood and more!
Year 5 - Electricity and Experiments
It's been all about science in our Year 5 class, and our students put on their scientist caps to administer their very own experiments all revolving around electricity, including metal and thermal conductors. In particular, our students were focusing in on the question: why is pencil lead a conductor, and diamond not a conductor, when they're both made from carbon atoms? That's definitely a question to tickle our brains...
Year 3 - Cooking Show Role Plays!
The food-related fun continued this week in our Year 3 class who, as part of their English lesson, wrote their very own MasterChef cooking show scripts! After looking at a sample and watching a clip, our Year 3 students put on their acting hats and they did an absolutely fantastic job. With contestants, chefs and judges, it certainly seemed as if we'd stepped right onto the set of a famous cooking show too!
