Cake Sale Preparation!
We're gearing up for our first post-Covid cake sale! It's samosas, cakes and drinks galore at BHA, and we urge everyone to help support our DrivetheChange campaign!
Year 3 - Trip to Welsh Harp!
Despite being surrounded by buildings and roads, Welsh Harp is a site of scientific interest containing a large array of wetland habitats! Our Year 3 students put their geographical skills to use as they explored the greenery. In addition, our students made dens, conducted scientific experiments in the wildlife and even painted their own renditions of caves! Overall, the trip was enjoyed by everyone, and our students returned with a newfound love for all things green!
Science Workshop!
Our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students had a great time as they explored a variety of scientific concepts during science week! In carefully-crafted science workshops run by seasoned professionals, our students explore the art of making different slimy textures, as well as carrying out a number of scientific investigations!
Year 5 - Making Parachutes!
This week, our Year 5 students have conducted their very own parachute investigation! In particular, they've been investigating air resistance and the effect that different parachute sizes have on the time taken to drop to the ground. This experiment expanded our students' scientific vocabulary, introducing them to concepts of acceleration, resistance and force. In addition, the experiment was the perfect way to corroborate scientific facts with some great crafting!
